Terms of Service (TOS)

Hosting Services

Although we run in an dedicated server environment (KVM VPS) where numerous CMS and frameworks could be used, our customers are allowed to run only websites based on the WordPress open source project and its derivatives, including projects built on on WP such as bbPress/BuddyPress. We do, however, allow additional scripts and products to be used in conjunction with your WordPress site without any guarantee. These products must be an necessary part of your WordPress site, so you may not, for example, run an independent ad-serving network, or analytics service, but you could easily run a WordPress-based CRM if you need one. The service is designed to serve web sites, primarily delivering WordPress generated HTML, and not for storing/serving large media files such as music, videos, compressed files, etc.

Service-Level Agreement (SLA)

PressCaptain.com provides a 99.9% uptime guarantee calculated on a monthly basis. If your WordPress site is down for more than 0.1% in any given month, you're entitled to SLA credits pro-rated for the downtime. However, please note that the SLA does not apply for outages caused by third-party plugins or themes, customer code and actions, although our support team will be happy to help resolve the issue in a timely manner. Abuse, Spam, Permitted Content, etc.

You are not allowed to use the PressCaptain.com platform for spam, abuse, pornography and other activities illegal in the United States. PressCaptain.com is not responsible for any content hosted on our customer's sites unless explicitly uploaded by a PressCaptain.com employee. You are not allowed to host copyrighted content. Any incoming DMCA request will be forwarded to the e-mail address associated with your account and you'll be given five days to comply with the request or file a counter-request. Non-US government requests will also be forwarded to the e-mail address on file, however, you reserve the right to not comply with such requests at your own risk - seek legal advice.

Site Backups

We perform daily backups that are saved for 30 days. Backups include your database(s) and web site files (wp-content, etc). Your backups are stored securely offsite on Amazon S3 which replicates files across several data centers for added resiliency. Backups are encrypted locally first and are transmitted through secure protocols (SSL). You are permitted, and encouraged, to use a WordPress backup plugin as an extra level of backup (feel free to inquire with us).

Payment and Refund Policy

There is no contract required and all hosting plans are billed in advance. You may choose to be billed monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual. All payments on PressCaptain.com are processed by a third-party (Stripe or Paypal). Our checkout provider is SamCart. PressCaptain.com NEVER stores your credit card information. PressCaptain.com offers a refund policy for new customers only. If you are unhappy with the service within 60 days after account activation, you may contact us and ask for a refund.

Account Suspension

PressCaptain.com reserves the right to suspend accounts in case of a violation of the Terms of Service. The most recent backup is kept for 14 days only. Please contact support for access to account backups.
